JC Kovolyan, MSPT, OCS, CSCS
JC received his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island in 1996, after completing his undergraduate course work at the University of Rochester. He has spent his career in the outpatient orthopedic setting, choosing to work with the active patient population often seen in an outpatient clinic. His interest and expertise in the orthopedic setting is evident through his confirmation as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), one of only 15 in the state, and by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He particularly enjoys treating injuries of the knee, shoulder, and back. JC has accumulated a wealth of experience in his career, and takes pleasure in helping his patients get back to their previous active lifestyle. His interests also include spending time with his family, golfing, surfing, and wood working.
Kathy Connors, MS, PT
Kathy graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1995 with a Master of Science degree in physical therapy. Her undergraduate studies were in the field of communications at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After graduation she lived and practiced physical therapy in Colorado for 9 nine years prior to relocating to Rhode Island. Although most of her continuing education focus has been on orthopedic and sports related injuries, she has additional training in vestibular and balance therapy. Kathy has a particular interest in the biomechanics of pain, incorporating functional rehabilitation programs into a patient's home program. In her time away from work she enjoys cycling, skiing, swimming, and skating with her husband and son.
Linda Summerly, PT
Linda is a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, MA, class of 1990, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy. Her seventeen years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of sports, orthopedic, and neurological disorders includes extensive continuing education in the treatment of spinal, shoulder, knee and ankle/foot dysfunctions using a variety of manual techniques and therapeutic exercise approaches. Linda specializes in the incorporation of core and scapular stabilization training into Physical Therapy protocols. In addition to her 17yrs. of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist, Linda has maintained her Certification as an International Weightlifting Association Strength Training Specialist and has been a practicing Certified Pilates Instructor for four years. Many post rehabilitation patients return to Linda for group and/or private PILATES instruction.
Kelly Lively
Kelly has over 21 years of outpatient orthopedic experience, receiving her Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Lowell and her Masters of Science degree with an Orthopedic-Osteopathic-Sports Medicine Concentration from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Prior to joining BCPT, Kelly was the former owner and director of Action Physical Therapy in East Providence. She is a manual therapist who specializes in Myofascial Release, Cranio-Sacral, and Trigger Point Myotherapy techniques. She has completed dozens of continuing education courses focusing on these manual techniques, including several with world-renown specialists John Barnes and John Upledger. Her expertise extends to treating people with chronic symptoms that have not been helped by other means. Her unique combination of traditional physical therapy and alternative/complementary techniques provides an innovative approach to restoring the individual to their optimal functional level. Kelly is a competitive horse rider and jumper, who has combined her love of animals and her profession through her certifications as a registered therapist in classic Hippotherapy, a certified Equine Massage Therapist, and a certified canine trigger point myotherapist.
